Astragalus atropilosulus (Hochst.) Bunge ssp. abyssinicus (Hochst.) J. B. Gillett var. burkeanus

Perennial herb or somewhat scrambling subshrub. Leaves pinnate, usually with some hairs on the rhachis, stipule large and leaf-like (see the first photo). Flowers in terminal racemes, varying in colour from nearly white to deep purple-pink, occasionally yellow. Pods papery, conspicuously veined with only one side impressed over the seeds.
