They are native to Cerrado, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Piauí, Caatinga, SãO Paulo, Bahia, GoiáS, Mato Grosso, Ceará, The Neotropics, Santa Catarina, Pampa, Paraná, Tocantins, and Rio Grande Do Sul. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 1.9 m.
