They are native to Roraima, Pernambuco, RondôNia, Amazônia, Pará, Rio Grande Do Norte, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Piauí, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso, Alagoas, Cerrado, Ceará, Caatinga, Tocantins, GoiáS, Acre (Brazil), Mata Atlântica, ParaíBa, Maranhao, Sergipe, and Amapá. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Augochloropsis.
