They are native to Cerrado, Pernambuco, Ceará, Maranhao, Amazônia, Amapá, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Piauí, Mato Grosso, Acre (Brazil), GoiáS, Pará, RondôNia, Caatinga, South America, Tocantins, and Espirito Santo. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by (page not found) and Straight-billed Hermit.
