Echium sabulicola ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung der Natternköpfe (Echium) in der Familie der Raublattgewächse (Boraginaceae).
Echium sabulicola ist eine borstig behaarte, niederliegend, aufstrebend oder aufrecht wachsende, zweijährige oder mehrjährige Pflanze, die einige bis mehrere blütentragende Stängel ausbildet. Sie erreicht Wuchshöhen von 15 bis 50 cm. Die Grundblätter sind eiförmig bis umgekehrt eiförmig, die Stängelblätter sind umgekehrt lanzettlich bis spatelförmig, an der Basis sind sie spitz zulaufend und kaum gestielt. Die Blätter sind mehr oder weniger dicht mit weißen, anliegenden oder abstehenden Borsten behaart.
Die Blütenstände sind mehr oder weniger verzweigt und locker rispenartig. Der Kelch ist zur Blütezeit 6 bis 10 mm lang und verlängert sich zur Fruchtreife auf bis zu 16 mm. Er ist dicht weißlich beborstet. Die Krone ist 12 bis 22 mm lang, trichterförmig und dunkelblau oder rosa- bis bläulich-purpurn gefärbt. Meist ein bis zwei Staubblätter stehen aus der Krone heraus, die Staubfäden sind gelegentlich spärlich behaart.
Die Chromosomenzahl beträgt 2n = 16.[1]
Die Art kommt in der westlichen Mittelmeerregion vor und wächst an Straßenrändern, Feldern und sandigen Standorten in Meeresnähe. Sie kommt vor in Marokko, Algerien, Tunesien, Libyen, Spanien, den Balearen, Frankreich, Italien, Sardinien und Korsika, Sizilien und Griechenland.

Vive en las dunas costeras de las islas Baleares y en las costas del Mediterráneo en Alicante, Castellón, Gerona y Valencia.
Requiere suelo bien drenado aunque sea pobre, seco árido y exposición a pleno sol.
Es una planta herbácea bienal rastrera, que puede alcanzar los 70 centímetros de altura cuando se encuentra agrupada. Se encuentra en los arenales de las costas de Mallorca, y en las costas del Mediterráneo a pleno sol y tolera bien periodos prolongados de sequía.
Las flores con el cáliz formado por 5 sépalos soldados. Corola zigomorfa, de 12-22 mm de longitud, formada por 5 pétalos soldados. 4 estambres, de los cuales al menos 1-2 se encuentran exsertos del tubo de la corola. Las flores son de un azul más vivo en los pétalos soldados.
Pelos por toda la corola (Echium plantagineum los tiene nada más que sobre los nervios).
Las hojas iniciales en roseta basal, ovadas u obovadas. Las hojas basales son parecidas a las caulinares.
Ovario super o dividido en cuatro partes. Fruto en aquenio, con un número màximo de 4 por flor.
Florece desde finales de abril, y puede volver a florecer en el otoño mientras dure el tiempo favorable.
Echium sabulicola fue descrita por Auguste Nicolas Pomel y publicado en Nouveau Materiaux pour la Flore Atlantique 90. 1874.[1]
