Diagnosis: Mouth subterminal; barbels absent; lateral line incomplete; 22-23 scales in lateral line; 9 circumpeduncular scales; 2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin insertions; gill rakers present along lower limb of first gill arch; 5 round spots on the sides, first above opercle, 3 on sides and 1 on caudal peduncle (Ref. 81639).Description: Small-sized species (Ref. 81639). Dorsal fin with 3 unbranched and 9 branched rays; anal fin with 3 unbranched and 5 branched rays; dorsal fin border almost straight, last simple ray soft, measuring 0.8 times head length (Ref. 81639). Scales with radial striae; 3.5 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin origin; 4.5 scales between lateral line and mid-belly; 22-23 scales in lateral line and lateral line reduced to 3-4 anterior scales (Ref. 81639).Colouration: ground colour yellowish brown dorsally, yellowish ventrally; dark kidney-shaped design on head; vague black spot above opercle followed by 4 well marked round black spots; fins colourless; base of anterior and posterior rays of dorsal fin darkened as are anterior rays of anal fin (Ref. 81639).
