A shrub about 2 m. high, with slender leafy twigs, the branchlets and young leaflets very minutely cinereous-puberulous ; leaves 5-7 cm. long, the petiole and rachis narrowly winged; leaflets 11-25, subcoriaeeous, linear-olong, 6-12 mm. long, 3-4 mm. broad, rounded at the apex, acute at the base, the margin minutely crenulate ; panicles axillary, loose, 4-6 cm. long, a little shorter than the leaves; fruiting pedicels 1-1.5 cm. long; lower bracts spatulate, the upper lanceolate ; sepals lanceolate ; carpels 5, or by abortion 2 or 3, compressed on the sides, rounded on the back ; endocarp thin, chartaceous ; seeds 2, thick, reniform, 2.5 mm. long, 2 mm. thick.
Type locality : Zimapan, Hidalgo. Distribution : Hidalgo and Taruaulipas.
