They are native to Canada, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Western North America, The Contiguous United States, Greenland, Borneo, Alaska, North America, and United States. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Epistrophe grossulariae, Adejeania vexatrix, Tansy Mustard Sweat Bee, and Bombus vancouverensis nearcticus. Individuals can grow to 16 m.
