Micranthes parvifolia (Greene) Small
Saxifraga parvifolia Greene, Pittonia 3 : 116. 1896.
Leaves spreading, 1-4.5 cm. lOng, the blades suborbicular or broader than long, undulate, crenate, dentate or denticulate, sometimes sparingly pubescent on both sides, barely if at all ciliolate, paler beneath than above, abruptly narrowed into relatively slender petiolelike bases which sometimes exceed the blades in length ; scapes solitary or sometimes two or three together, 15-35 cm. tall, relatively slender, rather evenly glandular -pubescent throughout, paniculately branched above, green or purple-tinged near the base ; cymules
fewflowered, becoming open and ultimately more or less elongated, the peduncles and pedicels very slender, minutely pubescent; sepals ovate, about 1.5 mm. long, glabrous;
petals white, spatulate obovate-cuneate, 2-3.5 mm. long, sometimes contracted near the
base ; filaments subulate ; follicles about 2.5 mm. high, purple or purple-tinged, the very
short tips spreading.
Type locality : Grant's Pass, Oregon. Distribution : Oregon and California.
