They are native to Piauí, Pampa, GoiáS, Caatinga, Tocantins, Rio Grande Do Sul, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Paraná, RondôNia, Rio De Janeiro, Roraima, Amazônia, ParaíBa, Distrito Federal, SãO Paulo, Pantanal, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Maranhao, Alagoas, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Sergipe, Amapá, Puerto Rico, Pará, Rio Grande Do Norte, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, and Ceará. They have capsule fruit.
