Didymosphenia geminata is a species of diatoms in the family Gomphonemataceae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Finland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Sweden, Faroe Islands, France, Spain, Columbia River, Canada, Norway, and Switzerland. Dead Didymosphenia geminata form siliceous oozes.
