Amastus diaphenes Dyar
Amastus diaphenes Dyar, 1914a, p. 151.
Forewing 33.0 mm. Head golden yellow. Thorax brownish yellow, becoming orange-red posteriorly and at sides of patagia. Wings devoid of scales except at margins, which are brownish yellow on forewings and light yellow on hindwing, and area between Cu1b and anal margin in hindwing, which is light yellow. Dorsal surface of abdominal segments 1–6 orange-red, 7 and 8 orange; 5–8 with orange-yellow lateral patch; ventral surface of abdomen greyish yellow, with some orange scales anteriorly on segment 2 and posteriorly on segment 8.
A single male type (USNM 18907) from Colombia is designated in the original description.
