Test: grey, pyriform, slightly compressed, surface with indentations and covered with siliceous exogenous plates. Pseudostome: more or less circular, terminal, with collar recurved posteriorly Nucleus ovular. Feeding: herbivore. Habitat: sphagnum mosses. Old name: Nebela griseola. This genus was proposed by Jung (1942) without type designation. Type species: Physochila griseola (Wailes & Penard, 1911).
