Salvinia molesta (Kariba Weed) is a species of annual herb in the family floating ferns. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Brazil, Guyana, Mata Atlântica, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Colombia, Argentina, North America, SãO Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Paraná. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.35 m. They have alternation of generations.
