An Annual herb. with erect, or geniculately ascending culms. Leaf-sheath oral hairs ciliate. Leaf-sheath auricles falcate. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blades 3–6 cm long; 2–3 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface pubescent; hairy on both sides. Inflorescence composed of racemes; deciduous as a whole bearing few fertile spikelets; bearing 2–7 fertile spikelets on each. Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets sessile. Fruit Caryopsis with adherent pericarp; hairy at apex.
