Low-growing perennial herb with spreading annual stems 40-80 cm, growing from a tuber. Leaves narrowly to broadly ovate, thinly hairy below. Flowers 1-3 in the upper leaf axils. Corolla with a shallow tube, the slender perianth lobes fusing at the tips to form a cage over the column, variable in colour but mostly pale yellow. Corona much reduced and appearing as an extension to the gymnostegium.
