Ledum pacificum Small, sp. nov
Ledum palustre dtlatatum A. Gray, Syn. Fl. 2^: 43. 1878. Not L. palustre dilatatum Wahl. 1812.
An erect shrub with loosely pubescent twigs; leaf -blades oblong, elliptic, or oblonglanceolate, 1.5-4 cm. long, more or less revolute, obtuse or acutish, ultimately glabrous above, copiously tomentose beneath, short-petioled ; pedicels puberulent; calyx-lobes deltoid, obtuse; petals oblong to oval, 5-6.5 cm. long; stamens 10; filaments pubescent below the middle; capsules oval or subglobose, 4.5-5.5 mm. long, slightly longer than thick.
Type collected on Sitka, Tiling (herb. N. Y. Bot. Gard.). Distribution: Sitka; also in Japan.
