Vernonanthura patens is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Amazônia, Mata Atlântica, Minas Gerais, Acre (Brazil), and The Neotropics. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Honey bee, Scaptotrigona pectoralis, and Partamona orizabaensis. Individuals can grow to 5.9 m.
