Colonies. On Cz growing somewhat restrictedly, attaining 4 cm, on MEA 4-4.5 cm diam. in 2 weeks at 25°C; aerial mycelium white, occasionally pale pink; reverse on Cz yellow or dull orange with a deep red tint. Conidiophores. On Cz, MEA, MEA + 20 or 40% sucrose scanty and not influencing the colony appearance, predominantly one-stage-branched, with verticils of 3-5 appressed metulae, occasionally two-stage-branched, showing a terminal penicillus and a lower, appressed branch with a verticil of metulae; stipes varying in length, 80-400 (-900) × 2.5-3.5 μm, smooth-walled or nearly so; branches 15-35 × 2.5-3.5 μm; metulae 10-15 × 2.5-3.5 μm. Conidiogenous cells. In parallel clusters of 3-5, 7.5-10 × 2.0-2.5 μm, consisting of a cylindrical base and a short but distinct, slightly narrowed neck. Conidia. In parallel to tangled chains, globose to subglobose (2.2-) 2.5-3.2 (-3.5) μm diam., smooth-walled. Ascomata. Pale yellowish brown, at first hard, 150-280 μm diam., ripening within 3 weeks; ascogenous hyphae with branches strongly recurved. Asci. 8.5-11 × 7.5-10 μm, borne in well-developed helicoidal chains of 5-7 cells, with the top cell strongly recurved and abortive, rarely singly. Ascospores. Broadly lenticular, 3.0-4.0 × 2.5-3.0 μm, with equatorial area slightly flattened, without prominent equatorial ridges, but often showing traces of 2 somewhat appressed ridges, valves reticulate.

Penicillium sinaicum is a species of fungus in the genus Penicillium which was isolated from marine sludge near Port Said City in Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.
