Laportea aestuans (West Indian Woodnettle) is a species of shrub in the family Urticaceae. They are native to Pará, Amazônia, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, RondôNia, Rio De Janeiro, Paraná, Mata Atlântica, Acre (Brazil), Cerrado, Bahia, SãO Paulo, U.S. Virgin Islands, Rio Grande Do Norte, Ceará, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, Piauí, ParaíBa, Puerto Rico, Maranhao, Sergipe, Caatinga, and GoiáS. They have achenes.
