Mitreola petiolata (Lax Hornpod) is a species of annual herb in the family loganias. They are native to Amazônia, Caatinga, Puerto Rico, The Contiguous United States, Ceará, Tocantins, Cerrado, ParaíBa, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Mata Atlântica, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Norte, Minas Gerais, GoiáS, Pará, Rio De Janeiro, Bahia, Pernambuco, Eastern North America, and Piauí. They have capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Pseudodoros clavatus and Coelioxys slossoni.
