They are native to Canada, Greenland, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Western North America, Alaska, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves, yellow flowers, and achenes. Flowers are visited by duke of burgundy fritillary, Cheilosia albipila, Pipizella virens, and Neoascia geniculata. Individuals can grow to 1.5 feet.
