Alsophila capensis is a species of tree in the family scaly tree ferns. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to Rio De Janeiro, Rio Grande Do Sul, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, Mata Atlântica, Paraná, and Santa Catarina. They have pinnate leaves. They have alternation of generations.
