Description

Twining liane, woody at the base. The leaves are broadly ovate to sub orbicular and strongly peltate; flowers in false compound umbels, axillary, sexes separate but similar. This variety is distinguished by the tomentose young branchlets, petioles, undersides of leaves and inflorescences. See var. abyssinica for comparison and fruits.
