Shrub or small tree, essentially glabrous throughout; leaves firmly membranaceous, oblongelliptic, 6-8 cm. long, 2-3 cm. broad, obtusely subcaudateacuminate to obtusish, rather broadly cuneate at the base, the petioles ^5 mm. long; inflorescence bearing 2-5 rather showy yellowish flowers; pedicels 7-9 mm. long; bracts conspicuously foliaceous; calyx-lobes conspicuously foliaceous, obovate-elliptic, abruptly acuminate, 8-10 mm. long, spreading; corolla salverform, the tube 22-25 mm. long, about 3 mm. in diameter at the base, the lobes obliquely obovate, 14-16 mm. long, somewhat reflexed; follicles unknown.
Type IvOCALITy: Volcan Tecuamburro, Santa Rosa, Guatemala; alt. 2000 meters. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
