They are native to Amazônia, Caatinga, RondôNia, Cerrado, Pampa, GoiáS, ParaíBa, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso, Roraima, Distrito Federal, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Paraná, Maranhao, Ceará, Minas Gerais, U.S. Virgin Islands, SãO Paulo, Rio Grande Do Norte, Tocantins, Pará, Bahia, Pantanal, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Amapá, and Mata Atlântica. They have achenes.
