Description

Scandent shrub or slender woody climber, unarmed. Leaves usually with 2 pairs of pinnae, on of the pinnae sometimes modified into a tendril; leaflets in 9-18 pairs per pinna, oblong, up to 2 cm long, asymmetric at the base. Flowers in short, dense, axillary spikes up to 6 cm long, purple-brown to red. Pods thin and flat, breaking down into single-seeded segments, leaving the outer rim.
