One of the syntypes of this species (USNM 34348) was collected from South of the Azuero Peninsula, (Centroid Latitude: 6.3500, Centroid Longitude: -80.6833), Panama, eastern Pacific, by the R. V. Albatross, from a depth of 3279 m.
