They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Western North America. They have simple, broad leaves, yellow flowers, and berries. Flowers are visited by Black Tail Bumble Bee, Andrena berberidis, Osmia lignaria propinqua, and Vosnesensky Bumble Bee. Individuals can grow to 8 feet.
