Helianthus annuus (Common Sunflower) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Contiguous United States and North America. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Yellow-banded Bumblebee, Honey bee, Monarch, and Parallel Leaf-cutter Bee. Individuals can grow to 9 feet.
