Tandonia ist eine Nacktschnecken-Gattung aus der Ordnung der Lungenschnecken. Zusammen mit den Gattungen Milax und Micromilax bilden die Arten der Gattung Tandonia die Familie der Kielschnegel (Milacidae).
Der Körper ist verhältnismäßig schlank und gestreckt bis etwa 10 cm lang. Der Kiel erstreckt sich über die gesamte Länge des Fußes, vom hinteren Rand des Mantelschildes bis zur Schwanzspitze, oder ist beschränkt auf den hinteren Teil des Fußes. Die Geschlechtsöffnung besitzt keinen Stimulator (wie in der nahe verwandten Gattung Milax) und die Herzvorhöfe werden nicht von den Nieren bedeckt.
Die Tandonia-Arten waren ursprünglich nur in Europa, Nordafrika, Kleinasien und im Kaukasus heimisch. Ein Schwerpunkt der Diversität ist die Balkanhalbinsel. Einige Arten, wie der Boden-Kielschnegel wurden nach Nordamerika eingeschleppt (Neozoen). Dort gelten sie in der Landwirtschaft als Schädlinge.[1]
Die Arten, die heute zur Gattung Tandonia gestellt wurden früher in die damals umfassendere Gattung Milax gestellt. Die Abtrennung der Gattung Tandonia und ihre Eigenständigkeit ist inzwischen allgemein anerkannt. Derzeit werden je nach Autor bis zu 36 Arten zu Tandonia gerechnet. Allerdings ist bei einigen Arten noch unklar, ob sie nicht miteinander identisch sind. Die MolluscaBase listet folgende Arten für Europa auf:[2]

The distribution of the genus Tandonia includes Europe to North Africa and Asia Minor.[2] The largest number of species are in the southern Alps.[2]
The slug's body is elongate, up to 100 mm in length, and usually with almost parallel sides. The posterior par is abruptly narrowed, the keel usually low and is restricted to the last section of the dorsum in some species, reaching the mantle margin in others.[2]
Reproductive system: The penis is usually short, the epiphallus is long. The retractor penis inserts at the boundary between the penis and epiphallus. The vas deferens of specific length opens into the posterior end of the epiphallus. The vaginal accessory glands (usually more than one) are of specific shapes, and are connected by ducts to the vagina or to the point where the vagina enters the atrium. The atrium is small and tubular, with no stimulator inside. Spermatheca are of specific size, the spermathecal duct can be longer or shorter than the spermatheca.[2]

Les glandes accessoires du vagin (généralement plusieurs) ont des formes spécifiques et sont reliées par des canaux au vagin ou au point où le vagin pénètre l'atrium. L'atrium est petit et tubulaire, sans stimulateur à l'intérieur. La spermathèque est de taille spécifique, le canal spermathécal peut être plus long ou plus court que la spermathèque[3].
