They are native to Middle East, Ukraine, Liberia, Aral Sea, Amur, Armenia, Mongolia, Slovakia, Georgia, the Palearctic, United States, Moldova, Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, China, Vietnam, Tigris River, Czech Republic, Norway, Amudar'ya River, Russia, Uzbekistan, Danube River, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Serbia And Montenegro, Austria, Kazakhstan, and Macedonia. They are solitary omnivores. Individuals can grow to 120 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
