Istiophorus platypterus (Sailfish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family billfishes. They are native to The Neotropics, Atlantic Ocean, Ethiopia, The Nearctic, Pacific Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Asia, Indian Ocean, the Palearctic, and Australia. They are solitary, nocturnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 348 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
