African Blackmouth Croaker

Ventral limbs of swim bladder appendages bearing branches directed forward. Only 4 or 5 posterior appendages enveloping bladder. Females lack drumming muscles. Last pleural rib on 10th vertebrae. Mouth lining pigmented. Membrane between opercular spines paler posteriorly.

Oceanodromous. Migrating within oceans typically between spawning and different feeding areas, as tunas do. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.
