Awaous flavus és una espècie de peix de la família dels gòbids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.

Morfologia

Els mascles poden assolir els 8,2 cm de longitud total.^[3][4]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des del riu Atrato (Colòmbia) fins a Belém (Brasil, prop de la desembocadura del riu Amazones).^[3]

Awaous flavus is a species of goby native to fresh and brackish waters of rivers and estuaries of South America from Colombia to near the mouth of the Amazon River in Brazil. Males of this species can reach a length of 8.2 centimetres (3.2 in) SL while females only reach 7.6 centimetres (3.0 in) SL.^[2]

Awaous flavus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van grondels (Gobiidae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1837 door Valenciennes.
