Spotted Prawn Goby

Characterized by whitish or pale grey color ; 4-5 black to faint brown bars, anterior two much darker than others; head and body with bright orange spots; pelvic fins blackish; eye with black spoke-like markings; prolonged dorsal spines as short filaments; pelvic fins united by membrane at base of fifth soft rays; predorsal scales extending forward to above posterior margin of preopercle; longitudinal scale series 65-70; greatest depth of body 4.5-5.2 in SL; rounded caudal fin (Ref. 90102).

Found in patches or expanses of coarse carbonate sand on outer lagoon and seaward reefs.

Found in patches or expanses of coarse carbonate sand on outer lagoon and seaward reefs. Inhabits coastal to outer reef sand slopes to 25 meters depth (Ref. 48637).

分布於西太平洋區海域，由菲律賓到美屬薩摩亞，北至臺灣、日本沖繩，南至史考特礁與大堡礁。臺灣發現於東部、東北部、南部、澎湖及小琉球等海域。

小型魚種，不具漁業價值。

第一背鰭：Ⅵ；第二背鰭：Ⅰ/12；臀鰭：Ⅰ/12；胸鰭：19~20。縱列鱗65~70。標準長為體高的4.5~5.2倍。第一背鰭延長呈絲狀，第三棘最長。腹鰭相連癒合形成一吸盤狀。體呈淺黃色，體側散布有許多橘黃色圓斑；腹側淺色，腹側面在胸鰭基部前方及後方各有大型三角形黑色斑塊，後方的斑塊較大而明顯；頭部於口角處具橘紅色斑；腹側鰓蓋膜具小型淺藍色細點；峽部灰黑色。背鰭透明，第一背鰭後部約有10個橘黃色斑；第二背鰭具20~30個橘色斑；胸鰭無色，基部灰黑色；尾鰭約具10個橘黃色斑點；臀鰭近基部的鰭膜具4個橘色斑，外側具1列寬灰黑色縱紋；腹鰭為灰黑色。(林上智、林沛立編寫 2012/10)

暖水性小型底層魚類，生活於熱帶珊瑚礁的礫石中，與槍蝦營共生生活。

Amblyeleotris guttata, the spotted prawn-goby is a species of goby native to reefs of the Western Pacific Ocean, that includes the Philippines to Tonga, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to Australia.

This species can reach a length of 11 centimetres (4.3 in) SL. It can also be found in the aquarium trade.
