Trophic Strategy

Benthic (Ref. 5951). Feeds on copepod, scaleworms and amphipods. Preyed upon by Atlantic cod; juveniles by grubby, Myoxocephalus aenaeus. Parasite of the species is known to be a protozoan (Trichodina elizabethae) found on gills (Ref. 5951).
