Description: Dorsal fin III + XIVI-XVI + 11-12 (usually 11); anal fin I, 19-21; pectoral rays 17-19; pelvic fin I, 2. Mandibular pores 4-6 + 1 + 4-6. Overall black with red zone on upper head and anterior body; female coloration unknown. With orbital tentacle. Scaleless head, nape, and narrow portion below spinous dorsal fins. LL continuous, pored scales 25-29 (Ref. 90102).
