Adults live on rock surfaces and under ledges; common at depths less than 10 m (Ref. 13227). Eggs are hemispherical and covered with numerous sticky threads that anchor them in the algae on the nesting sites (Ref. 240). Larvae are planktonic which occur primarily in shallow, nearshore waters (Ref. 94114).

Black-throated triplefin

Helcogramma decurrens, known commonly as the black-throated triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Helcogramma.[2] It was described by Allan Riverstone McCulloch and Edgar Ravenswood Waite in 1918.[3] This species occurs along the western and southern coasts of Australia where it is found down to depths of 13 metres (43 ft) in both the intertidal and subtidal zones where it hides among algae growing on rocky substrates.[1]
