Pygmy Threefin

Semi-transparent with indistinct oblique pale and dusky bands on the body (Ref. 48636). Males are heavily pigmented under the head.

Found in high isolated tidal pools and wave-swept tops of lagoon reefs (Ref. 1602). Occasionally found in intertidal pools.

Adults inhabit shallow coastal to outer reef crests and slopes but reported to 30 m depth (Ref. 48636). Also found in high isolated tidal pools and wave-swept tops of lagoon reefs (Ref. 1602). 小型魚類，僅具學術研究價值。

體形小，圓柱狀。吻極尖，上頜向後延伸至眼前緣下方；上下頜齒小，外列齒較大；鋤骨齒排列呈倒 V形；腭骨無齒；眼眶上緣皮膜與鼻瓣膜均細長，無鋸齒緣。頤部感覺孔 2+1+2。頭、頸、腹部及胸鰭基無鱗，其餘被櫛鱗；第一與第二背鰭基無鱗；腹部後緣具少許圓鱗；側線不連續，分為前後二段，前段側線為孔鱗，孔鱗側線不陡降，末端位於第二背鰭第八至第九棘下方；後段側線為缺刻鱗，缺刻側線鱗從孔鱗側線末端起延伸至尾柄；最後孔鱗與缺刻側線鱗列之間具一鱗列；側線上鱗列 3。D. III+XI-XII+8-9；A. I+15-16； P. ii-iii+4-5+vi-vii； L.l. 12+19；背鰭分成三枚；胸鰭末端達最後一側線孔鱗後方 2-3鱗片處，即在第二背鰭的最後一棘下方，或稍後。體半透明，體側具不顯著之淡色及暗色斜帶。雄魚於頭部下方具濃密的色素斑。

主要棲息於沿岸淺水域到外礁的礁頂至礁坡約30公尺深處，也被發現於高度隔離的潮池和潟湖礁區的浪拂區，偶出現於潮間帶之池沼。

Enneapterygius nanus, the pygmy triplefin or pygmy threefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Enneapterygius. It was described by Leonard Peter Schultz in 1960. This species is found from Taiwan and central Indonesia to New Caledonia and the Marshall Islands.
