Yellow Chromis

Description: Head and body yellow to brownish (Ref. 90102). Has either white or yellow fins in Indonesia, depending on the region and both forms occur in Bali. In Japan the sub-tropical form has yellow ventrals and a white tail, also grows much larger (14 cm) (Ref. 48636). Body depth 1.7-2.0 in SL (Ref. 90102).

Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).

主要分布於印度-西太平洋區，自南非至所羅門群島，北至日本，南至澳洲、斐濟等。台灣東北部海域最多，另外，南部的墾丁海域亦布分布，但極少見。

中小型之雀鯛，可食用，一般不為漁獲對象魚。有人將其作觀賞魚之用。

體呈卵圓形而側扁，標準體長為體高之 1.7-2.0倍。眼中大，上側位。口小，上頜骨末端僅及眼前緣；齒細小，圓錐狀。眶下骨裸出；前鰓蓋骨後緣平滑。體被大櫛鱗；側線之有孔鱗片16-19個。背鰭單一，軟條部不延長而略呈角形，硬棘XIII，軟條 11-13；臀鰭硬棘II，軟條11-13；胸鰭鰭條18-20；尾鰭叉形，上下葉末端呈尖形，各具3條硬棘狀鰭條。體色除尾柄及尾鰭為白色外，身體及頭部皆為黃色；胸鰭基部有小黑點；前鰓蓋及鰓蓋不具暗褐色之後緣。

主要棲息在陡峭礁岩或礁體斜坡上，棲息深度較深，約在144公尺以內。通常呈小群或大群出現，但亦有單獨出現者。以藻類及浮游生物為主食。

The yellow chromis (Chromis analis), also known as the yellow puller, is a species of marine fish in the family Pomacentridae. It is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the central Indo-Pacific region. A small fish, it can reach a maximum size of 17 cm in length.
