描述

體長型,側扁。頭部背面輪廓筆直或稍凹;吻部較尖,為頭長的 33-40%;側線鱗片較小。D. XII, 10;A. III, 12;P. 16-17; L.l. 32-33; G.R. 4-5+10;頭背部及體背側鮮紅色,由 2條淡黃色縱帶分隔;腹部色淡。背鰭與臀鰭亦為鮮紅色,基底淡色,末緣黑色;尾鰭亦為鮮紅色,後端黑色,末緣白色;腹鰭幾呈黑色,基底淡色;胸鰭淡色,基部上方具一黑斑。

棲地

主要棲息於岩礁或珊瑚礁區,是以捕食小魚、小蝦或其他小型無脊椎動物的日行性魚類。通常單獨行動,喜愛在水流較流動的區域活動。在台灣南部沿近海的礁區偶爾可發現。

Bodianus masudai is a species of wrasse.[1] It is found in the Western Pacific Ocean.[2]

Size

This species reaches a length of 12.0 cm (4.7 in).[3]

Etymology

The fish is named in honor of Hajime Masuda (1921–2005) of the University of Tokyo, who collected the type specimen and co-authored the study in which the fishes description appeared.[4]
