描述

體圓而延長,近尾部處則是逐漸側扁。吻端圓鈍,頭大,口端位。鰓蓋骨後方有一枚強棘。眼小,眼徑小於吻長,頭部及眼部覆蓋的皮膚相當膨大。體被圓鱗,側線鱗特化,上方具紡錘狀的神經瘤構造。背鰭和臀鰭非常的長,後部軟條與尾鰭相連。背鰭鰭條數113,臀鰭鰭條數 91;成魚腹鰭退化消失;胸鰭鰭條數22。體色為深黑色。
