Snout short, blunt; eyes large, its diameter greater than snout length. Pyloric caeca about 9, short, stumpy (Ref. 1371). Band of small pointed teeth in the premaxilla and dentary. Head fully scaled except for underside of snout, gular and branchiostegal membranes. Body dark brown to black, buccal cavity, gill cavities and peritoneum black (Ref. 37108).
