Chauliodus sloani (Dannevig's Dragonfish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family dragonfishes. They are native to The Neotropics, the Palearctic, Indian Ocean, Ethiopia, Mediterranean Sea, Asia, Atlantic Ocean, The Nearctic, Pacific Ocean, and Australia. They are solitary, nocturnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 35 cm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is iteroparous and oviparous. They rely on swimming to move around.
