Ichthyococcus elongatus és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família Phosichthyidae.[4]
Descripció
- Pot arribar a fer 13 cm de llargària màxima.[5][6]
Hàbitat
És un peix marí, mesopelàgic[7] i batipelàgic que viu entre 100 i 500 m de fondària i entre les latituds 60°N-49°S, 141°E-122°W.[5][8]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba al Pacífic sud-occidental (Nova Zelanda)[9] i les regions temperades del Pacífic nord (el Canadà,[10][11] les illes Hawaii,[12] el Japó[13][14][6] i les illes Kurils).[5][15][16]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans.[5]
