Squalus acanthias (Cape Shark) is a species of Selachii in the family Squalidae. They are listed as of special concern by COSEWIC. They are native to Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. They are solitary carnivores. Individuals can grow to 160 cm. Reproduction is ovoviviparous and iteroparous. They rely on swimming to move around.
