The Seychelles gulper shark (Centrophorus seychellorum) is a species of fish in the family Centrophoridae found in Alphonse island in Seychelles.[1] This species is distinguished by having large tip of snout to first dorsal distance of 34% TL; first dorsal fin high (7% TL); second dorsal fin base long (9.8% TL); long snout (12.2% TL); uniformly grey with tip and the trailing edge of dorsal fins blackish.[2] It is one of 11 described species in the genus Centrophorus.

Il centroforo delle Seychelles (Centrophorus seychellorum Baranes, 2003) è un piccolo squalo di acque profonde della famiglia dei Centroforidi.
Gli esemplari più grandi misurati indicano una lunghezza massima di 79,7 cm per i maschi ed una di 65,2 per le femmine. Questa specie si distingue per il fatto di avere distanza tra la punta del muso e la prima pinna dorsale relativamente maggiore che in altri Centrophorus (pari al 34% della lunghezza totale), prima pinna dorsale alta (7% della lunghezza totale), base della seconda pinna dorsale lunga (9,8% della lunghezza totale) e muso lungo (12,2% della lunghezza totale). La colorazione è grigia uniforme, ma il margine posteriore di entrambe le pinne dorsali è nerastro[2].
La biologia della specie è del tutto sconosciuta[2].
È presente solamente nelle acque dell'oceano Indiano occidentale, attorno alle Seychelles. Vive in oceano aperto, fino a 1000 m di profondità[2].
Viene catturato con reti di profondità[2].

Голова подовжена, загострена. Очі великі, овально-горизонтальної форми. Морда довга, становить 12,2% довжина тіла. Тулуб щільне, помірно струнке. Від кінчика морди до основи переднього спинного плавця складає 34% довжини тіла. Передній плавець високий — 7% довжини тіла. Основа заднього спинного плавця відносно довге — 9,8% довжини тіла.
Забарвлення спини сірого кольору. Кінчики та задні крайки спинних плавців мають чорне забарвлення. Очі зеленуватого кольору.
Тримається на глибині 1000 м. Здійснює добові міграції. Активний хижак. Живиться невеликими костистими рибами, головоногими молюсками та ракоподібними.
Це яйцеживородна акула.
Мешкає біля Сейшельських острвоів, переважно виловлювалося біля о. Альфонс.

Впервые вид научно описан в 2003 году[2]. Голотип представляет собой самку длиной 65,2 см, паратип — самец длиной 79,7 см, оба экземпляра пойманы на глубине 1000 м[3]. Родовое название происходит от слов греч. κεντρωτός — «утыканный шипами» и греч. φορούν — «носить»[4], а видовое название означает «сейшельский».
У Centrophorus seychellorum довольно плотное, вытянутое тело, заостренная и удлиненная голова. Длина рыла составляет около 12,2% длины тела. Расстояние от кончика рыла до основания первого спинного плавника равно примерно 34% длины тела. Первый спинной плавник высокий (до 7% длины тела). Основание второго спинного плавника довольно длинное — оно составляет около 9,8% длины тела. Окрас равномерного серого цвета, кончики и задние края спинных плавников тёмные[2].
Максимальная зарегистрированная длина составляет 79,7 см.
