Carcharhinus longimanus (Oceanic Whitetip Shark) is a species of modern sharks in the family requiem sharks. They are listed as critically endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are native to Atlantic Ocean, Oceania continent (Australia, NZ and islands), Pacific Ocean, The Neotropics, Indian Ocean, and Asia. They are solitary detritivores. Individuals can grow to 400 cm. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming and carcharhiniform to move around.
