Cetorhinus maximus (Basking Shark) is a species of modern sharks in the family basking sharks. They are listed as endangered by IUCN, as endangered by COSEWIC, and in cites appendix ii. They are native to Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean. They are carnivores. Individuals can grow to 1520 cm. Reproduction is ovoviviparous and iteroparous. They rely on swimming to move around.
